Share

Are you struggling with your race? Do you want to improve your running? This article will provide you with information on how to warm up before a race.

“To improve your running, a warm up is extremely important for short distance runners, but the acceleration could also help marathon and half marathon runners to prepare their mind and body for the race.”

How do you warm up for your race? Do you warm up properly?

Here are the most important steps to complete in your warm-up to improve your running:

  • Jog
  • Dynamic Stretching
  • Drills
  • ABC Drills

It’s extremely important for short distance runners, but the acceleration could also help marathon and half marathon runners to prepare their mind and body for the race.

Now, the difference is the time you spend doing all three parts of the warm-up. For half marathon and marathon runners, the jog and dynamic stretches should take no longer than 10 minutes. Whilst the drills should be performed for up to five minutes, taking the overall exercises to 15 minutes altogether.

Watch the video below ‘How you can IMPROVE your RACE TIME using just a few QUICK TIPS’ created by Monika Sikora to gain some great examples of dynamic stretches and drills to prepare you for the race.
