PHYSIOTHERAPIST

I wanted to do physiotherapy because I always had a desire to help others and there is nothing more rewarding than improving someone’s health and wellbeing. This passion drove me to complete my BSc in Physiotherapy, with 6-month rotational placement. Post my internship, I worked in a Musculoskeletal clinic treating cases of post fracture, post ligament repair and post joint replacement rehabilitation, musculoskeletal pain conditions, sports injuries, osteoarthritis education and treatment, vestibular dysfunctions and osteoporosis management. I used a combined treatment approach of manual therapy, exercises, education as well as electrotherapy to help facilitate quick recovery. After a year of working, I completed my MSc where I gained skills of incorporating evidence to clinical practice and tailoring it to each patient. I have gained a strong interest in research and keep up to date with current evidence in the field and inculcate the evidence in practice. In my clinical practice I always focus on patient rapport, which helps me gain a thorough understanding of the condition that drives the treatment planning.
