This Back Pain Came Out Of Nowhere! Can You Help?
We are very experienced in treating low back pain, as it is common and something we see often. When back pain strikes suddenly it can be frightening, and lead to severe disability with a range of different symptoms. We often see people who were gardening at the weekend or lifting something, for example, and then suddenly felt their back ‘go’.
Our experienced specialist team of practitioners can look at your back and identify the most likely cause of your pain out of all the possibilities, educate you about it to reduce fear, and provide safe and effective treatment. Helping you to return to working order quickly is of upmost important to us.
Is Osteopathy Right For Me?
Osteopathy is safe, essentially without side effects. Our experienced team have helped a wide range of clients, including sports people, women during pregnancy, both the young and the elderly, both manual workers and office professionals. If you have a body…osteopathy can probably help.

Here’s What Our Osteopaths Do To Help You Feel Better
An osteopath will provide gentle and effective hands-on treatment to optimise the performance of your body. Their priority is to quickly reduce pain at the source. With a thorough evaluation, your osteopath will help identify the most suitable course of action for you, whether that is further treatment, referral or exercises to help get you better.
At Perfect Balance Clinic, you get the benefit of true teamwork, as our osteopaths will include other clinic professionals in your care. We also help with referrals to GPs and orthopaedic consultants for complex issues.
Some common effective osteopathic treatment techniques we use to relieve pain include:
- Mobilisation and manipulation of joints
- Soft tissue techniques
- Medical Acupuncture
- Specific exercise prescription for the prevention and rehabilitation of injury and chronic pain
- Taping to protect joints and injured tissues
- Assessment and treatment of postural, pelvic and spinal alignment
- Biomechanical assessment of movements through video analysis
- Re-training to prevent recurring injuries

What To Expect From Your First Session
Your first appointment with a therapist will involve a detailed case history and examination. Our osteopaths will spend sufficient time with you to help you understand what is causing your problems and explain how best to address them. They will then provide the best treatment for your specific problem and circumstances.
We usually recommend that you wear sportswear, such as shorts and a vest or a sports bra – something that you will feel comfortable in and that will also accommodate the examination and treatment. It is fine with us if you would like to bring someone else along to your appointment.
Our Osteopaths Are Professional and Knowledgeable
All of the Perfect Balance Clinic osteopaths are fully qualified, insured and registered with the General Osteopathic Council. Some are also registered with the Osteopathic Sports Care Association. Most have come from lecturing backgrounds, having taught high-level clinical osteopathy.
