• Shoulder Tendinopathy – We treat people suffering from shoulder tendinitis whether calcification or not, we find we get excellent results.
• Golfers Elbow – If you have Golfer’s Elbow, which is where an inflamed tendon attaches on the inner elbow, our Shockwave Therapy can be used to reduce the pain.
• Tennis Elbow – This is one of the more common conditions we see a lot of along with the other forms of tendinitis. Our shockwaves help to speed up recovery for persisting elbow pain.
• Hip Bursitis (bursitis trochanterica) – This is a very common and painful complaint, and our Shockwave Therapy can relieve the pain of this. We often carry out the rehabilitation of this to help speed up recovery and prevent recurrence.

Your therapist who will be carrying out your Shockwave treatment will discuss your symptoms with you and discover where the source of pain is. This area will then be marked ready for Shockwave Therapy. A gel is applied to this area so that the contact is optimised between the shockwave device and your skin. This handheld device delivers pulsations to the site of pain for only a few minutes, depending on which condition is being treated. These energy waves then stimulate your body’s own natural healing response.

The shockwave treatment is completely painless. Sometimes patients experience mild discomfort in the muscle for one or two days following the treatment. This happens because of the way in which the shockwave therapy works, by causing micro-injury to the muscle, which is what triggers the muscle to naturally repair itself to full health. Weight training in order to strengthen muscles works in the same way. Most patients however report few to no problems at all after their treatment.
